INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland improved to 8-1 and Northern Kentucky picked up its third road win of the season during nonconference action Saturday. Green Bay’s Khalil Small converted a free throw with six seconds remaining to give the Phoenix an overtime win at Akron while Youngstown State and Cleveland State also were winners. Horizon League teams now boast a 29-6 (.829) mark at home this season.

ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) -- Martez Walker scored 19 points and Jalen Hayes added 15 points and nine rebounds to send Oakland past Southern Utah 78-68 on Saturday.
