No. 24 Men's Soccer Draws with No. 7 Michigan State, 0-0 -- Box Score

CHICAGO – The No. 24 UIC men’s soccer team (2-0-1) fought until the end and held off No. 7 Michigan State (2-0-1) through 90 minutes of play and two overtime periods before a 0-0 draw was decided. The Flames outshot the Spartans, 11-9, with sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Putna making three saves on the day and registering his second shutout of the season.

The tie marks the first double overtime scoreless draw for UIC since receiving the same result against Butler in 2011. Read more

Freshmen Lead The Way Again In 2-1 Victory Over Bulldogs -- Box Score

MILWAUKEE - Freshmen Nick Moon and Reid Stevenson netted goals and junior goalkeeper Agustin Rey made six saves in his debut to lead the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Gonzaga University Sunday at Engelmann Stadium.

The Panthers (3-1-0) led early but the Bulldogs (0-3-0) did rally to even the score before halftime. Moon's 66th-minute game-winner provided the difference to earn the win at the 40th Panther Invitational. Read more

Detroit Drops Flyer Classic Finale at Dayton, 3-0 -- Box Score

DAYTON, Ohio (9/7/2014) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team gave up three first-half goals on Sunday as the Titans fell, 3-0, at the University of Dayton. The host Flyers earned their first win of the season in the finale of the Dayton Flyer Classic at Baujan Field.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, sophomore midfielder Aidan Kuhls (Kansas City, Mo. / Bishop Miege) and freshman forward Spiro Pliakos (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester) were each named to the Dayton Flyer Classic All-Tournament Team. Read more

Men's Soccer Downs Western Illinois on Late Goal -- Box Score

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Moving its record back to the .500 mark on the season, the Green Bay men’s soccer team escaped with a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Western Illinois.

After an even first half, sophomore standout Audi Jepson (Green Bay, Wis.) gave the Phoenix its first lead of the weekend with a goal in the 70th minute. Jepson received a pass from senior Lawrence Talery (Coon Rapids, Minn.) from about six yards out, when Jepson smashed it into the back of the net. Read more

OMAHA, Neb. - - Belmont University men's soccer dropped a 3-1 decision at Omaha Sunday afternoon.

The Bruins had to stave off an early Omaha push, as sophomore goalkeeper Grayson Rector (Peachtree City, Ga.) denied Nick Miller's header off a Maverick corner kick. Read more

Manesio Nets Goal in 4-1 Loss at Wake Forest -- Box Score

SALEM, N.C. - Sergio Manesio scored a goal to bring Cleveland State within 2-1, but Wake Forest used two late goals to pull away for a 4-1 victory over the Vikings on Sunday night at Spry Stadium.

CSU fell to 2-2 this year while Wake Forest improved to a 2-2 record. Read more
