Oakland Comeback Falls Short at No. 25 Denver, 3-2 -- Box Score

DENVER - Raphael Reynolds and Austin Ricci each scored second-half goals to lead Oakland as it fell to No. 25 Denver, 3-2, Friday night in men's soccer action at CIBER Field. The Golden Grizzlies were narrowly outshot by the Pioneers 16-15 in the match.

"I thought for long stretches of the game we played very well and dictated play against a very good, nationally ranked Denver team on the road in a tough environment," said head coach Eric Pogue. "Moving forward, we need to show a greater urgency and commitment to goal scoring in the final third of the field the way that Denver did against us tonight with their chances. We showed a lot of perseverance and resiliency not to let a few tough situations that went against us break our will to compete at a high level and as a coach, you are pleased to see that from your team."
