The final home game for seniors Olivia Nash and Elena Popkey was a memorable one as Oakland upended conference leader Green Bay, 77-69, on Senior Day Saturday becoming just the second team to sweep the season series over the Phoenix in league play. Read more
Green Bay Falls in Regular Season Finale to Oakland, 77-69
The Green Bay women’s basketball team closed out the regular season this afternoon in Rochester, Mich., taking on Oakland at the O’rena. The Phoenix (26-4, 16-2) was never able to get full control of the game, as the Golden Grizzlies (15-14, 7-11) led wire-to-wire in the contest and claimed a 77-69 victory. Read more
Balanced Effort Sparks Crusaders to 80-74 Win over UIC
Four Crusaders finished in double figures Saturday as Valpo engineered an 80-74 victory over the host Flames at the UIC Pavilion. Dani Franklin (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/George Washington) finished with a team-high 16 points while Haylee Thompson (Hailey, Idaho/Wood River [Utah State]) was 6-for-9 from the field for 14 points. Flames Drop Shootout to Valpo in Home Finale, 80-74
In its final home contest of the season, the UIC women’s basketball team (12-17, 3-15 HL) fell to Valparaiso (9-20, 5-13 HL) by a score of 80-74. The contest was the final home game for five UIC seniors: Ruvanna Campbell, Manuella Kanmegni, Imani Moore, Marissa Grossfeld and Caitlin Garant. Read more
Last Second Abshaw Jumper Leads Vikings To 64-62 Victory At Northern Kentucky
Behind a career-high 32 points from Ashanti Abshaw – including a last-second game-winning jumper – the Cleveland State women's basketball team closed out the regular season with a 64-62 victory at Northern Kentucky Saturday evening. The Vikings finish the regular season with a 9-19 overall record a 6-12 mark in Horizon League play. Read more
