Valparaiso 41, Northern Kentucky 32

Defense carried the Valparaiso University women’s basketball team as the Crusaders allowed the fourth-fewest points in program history on Saturday afternoon at BB&T Arena, pulling out a 41-32 victory over Northern Kentucky. The Crusaders (7-18, 2-12 Horizon) upstaged the Norse (8-17, 4-9) on their home court for the second consecutive year. Amber Lindfors (Elk Grove Village, Ill. / Elk Grove) pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds while contributing seven points and four blocks.

Oakland 61, Detroit Mercy 71

DETROIT (2/11/2017) -- Eight-straight at home and another one over the rivals.

The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team earned its seventh win in its past eight games and improved to 8-0 at home in Horizon League play on Saturday with a 71-61 victory over Oakland from Calihan Hall. It was the second victory this season over the rival Golden Grizzlies and third-straight overall under head coach Bernard Scott.

Detroit Mercy improved to 10-3 in the Horizon League and 8-0 in league home contests, just the third time in school history the Titans have won eight-straight on their home court in league play and the first time since 1996-97.

Youngstown State 41, Green Bay 75

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women’s basketball team had a full day at the Kress Events Center on Saturday afternoon, as the Phoenix welcomed Youngstown State for Senior, Alumni and Parents’ Day, as well as the annual PinkZone game. Green Bay was unmatched on the afternoon, dominating its way to a 75-41 victory.

The Penguins opened the day with a free throw to lead things 1-0 and that was the last lead it would see the remainder of the day, as Jessica Lindstrom buried a three-pointer shortly after and the Phoenix never looked back. Green Bay carried a six-point advantage into the second quarter after Sam Terry buried a triple as time expired to give Green Bay a 20-14 lead.

Cleveland State 72, Milwaukee 76

MILWAUKEE – Bailey Farley poured in a career-high 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting to help lead the Milwaukee women's basketball team to a 76-72 victory of Cleveland State Saturday afternoon in front of 895 inside the Klotsche Center.

Milwaukee (17-8, 9-5 Horizon) used a 17-5 run early in the third quarter to turn an 11-point deficit into a one-point lead and then made some clutch shots down the stretch for the big win.

UIC 51, Wright State 62

The Wright State women's basketball team saw UIC trim a 13-point halftime deficit to two in the third quarter before the Raiders ended the period on a 9-1 run en route to a 62-51 win in Horizon League action Saturday afternoon at the Wright State Nutter Center.
