The final day of the regular season has arrived in women's soccer. Six of the nine teams will advance to next week's tournament and only two schools know their seed for the tournament. Valparaiso has gone 7-0 so far in the Horizon League and will host the tournament semifinals and championship match as the No. 1 seed. Detroit is 5-2 in the Horizon League and will receive a bye into the semfinals as the No. 2 seed.
The Horizon League women's soccer tournament begins Monday with the No. 3 seed hosting the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 seed hosting the No. 5 seed. Those first round matches will start at 7 p.m. local time. On Thursday, the two first round winners will join Valpo and Detroit in Valparaiso for the semifinals. The championship match of the 2014 tournament is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET in Valparaiso.
3 p.m. -- Milwaukee (5-10-2, 1-4-2) at Detroit (8-7-1, 5-2) | Live Stats
Individual Leaders
Goals: Kelly Lewers, UWM (Sr., F) - 6; Alyssa Riley, UDM (Sr., M) - 6
Assists: Lewers & Morgan LaPlant (Sr., M/F) - 5; Alyssa Lotito, UDM (Jr., D) - 4
Goalkeeper: Paige Lincicum (72 saves, 1.96 GAA); Marina Manzo, UDM (72 saves, 1.02 GAA)
What to Look for: This is the only match of the day where both teams can not improve on their postseason destination. The Titans are locked into the No. 2 seed, while UWM has seen its streak of 14 consecutive regular season titles snapped this year and will not qualify for the HL Tournament.
6 p.m. -- Valparaiso (11-1-4, 7-0) at Green Bay (10-5-2, 4-3) | HLN & Live Stats
Individual Leaders
Goals: April Cronin, Valpo (So., F) - 6; Heidi Hartmann, GB (Jr., F) - 11
Assists: Cronin, Grace Rogers (Fr., D) & Robin Wenzel (So., F) - 2; Abby Juzwik, GB (Sr., M) - 4
Goalkeeper: Sydney Galvez-Daley (49 saves, 0.41 GAA); Nastacia Behle, GB (42 saves, 0.84 GAA)
What to Look for: Valparaiso has clinched the regular season title for the first time since joining the Horizon League. A win over GB on Friday would give Valpo the first undefeated mark in League play since Milwaukee went 8-0 in 2011. GB enters Friday's match knowing they have a spot in the tournament, but a win over the Crusaders would clinch the Phoenix hosting a first round match on Monday. Green Bay has not hosted a tournament match in the HL since the 2005 season.
7 p.m. - Wright State (6-9-1, 3-3-1) at Oakland (5-10-2, 3-3-1) | ESPN3 & Live Stats
Individual Leaders
Goals: Natalie Sedlock, WSU (Jr., F) - 5; Kyla Kellermann, Oak (Sr., F) & Alice Palmer, OAK (So., F) - 5
Assists: Paige Aguilera, WSU (So., F) & Allie Metzler, WSU (Sr., D) - 2; Alice Palmer, OAK (So., F) - 3;
Goalkeeper: Halle Pyle, WSU (56 saves, 0.82 GAA); Alison Holland, OAK (43 saves, 0.90 GAA)
What to Look for: There are four teams tied with 10 points in the HL standings and this matchup features two of those teams. A lot is still on the table for both teams as a win could mean hosting a first round game, while a loss for WSU would put the Raiders at risk of missing the tournament.
8:30 p.m. - Youngstown State (7-7-2, 3-3-1) at UIC (2-15, 0-7) | Live Stats
Individual Leaders
Goals: Kathy Baquero, YSU (So., MF) - 5; Jasmin Carrera, UIC (So., F) - 4
Assists: Chelsey Haney, YSU (Sr., F) - 5; Jasmin Carrera, UIC (So., F) - 2
Goalkeeper: Jackie Podolsky, YSU (62 saves, 1.25 GAA); Kelly Fritz, UIC (112 saves, 2.11 GAA)
What to Look for: With the win, the Penguins will tie the school mark for most wins in a season with eight. The last time YSU won eight matches was in 2012.
