INDIANAPOLIS -- Green Bay junior Celeste Hoewisch has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Feb. 8-14. The selection marks Hoewisch's first career weekly honor from the League office.

Hoewisch, a guard from Hortonville, Wis., recorded a career-best 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in Saturday's 74-63 win over in-state rival Milwaukee. She nailed 9-of-17 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc in the nationally-televised game vs. the Panthers.

The victory was Green Bay's 10th straight over UWM and 34th consecutive over conference opponents in regular-season home contests. It also gave Green Bay 20 wins for the 11th straight campaign.

Hoewisch is averaging 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.5 steals through 23 affairs this season. She has knocked down 50 percent from the field and 80 percent from the charity stripe.

The second-place Phoenix (20-3 overall, 9-3 HL) hosts UIC on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET and Loyola on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Hoewisch will become eligible for the Horizon League Network's "People's Choice" award, which is announced each Thursday afternoon. Log on to www.HorizonLeagueNetwork.tv to vote.
