Horizon League and Big Ten Partner to Serve as Title Sponsors of 2005 Women's Leadership Symposium

Indianapolis, Ind. - The Horizon League and Big Ten Conference will host the third biennial Leadership Symposium for Women in Intercollegiate Athletics to be held in Indianapolis May 16-17, 2005.

The symposium will help to provide development opportunities for women in athletics and for those students aspiring to enter the field of athletics. Dr. Myles Brand, President of the NCAA will serve as the keynote speaker.

The first symposium was conducted in 2001 in Indianapolis and included 65 participants. By 2003, the event had grown to 125 attendees and was held in Columbus, Ohio. The goal for the 2005 symposium is 200 participants.

Participants will include administrators from universities and colleges, conferences, the NCAA, the NBA, the WNBA, state athletic organizations, educational organizations and public and private enterprises.

The cost is $75 per professional and $45 per student. The deadline to register is April 20.
