Horizon League and CSTV Announce Launch of the Horizon League Network

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Horizon League, in partnership with CSTV Networks, Inc., announced today the upcoming launch of the Horizon League Network (HLN) as the premier broadband destination for free, live video of League games and other video-on-demand features highlighting the League's teams and student- athletes.
An extension of a venture that produced more than 150 events last year, the Horizon League Network is a comprehensive conference-wide broadband initiative designed to provide coverage of member institutions' athletic programs to fans, parents, alumni, boosters, current and prospective student-athletes, the general public and the media with quality live game web casts and other compelling video on-demand programming.
The Horizon League Network is the centerpiece of the League's newly re-designed web site located at www.horizonleague.org, which will launch Tuesday, Oct. 24. All games will be accessed directly from the HLN video player on the home page.

"HLN allows us to expand upon our broadband initiative and brand it as the premier site for live and on-demand coverage of Horizon League sports. The Network also will exponentially increase the number of men's and women's basketball games available while providing coverage of other sports that have received little, if any, coverage by traditional media outlets."

The League's goals for HLN are to produce more than 200 events with a focus on men's and women's basketball regular-season and tournament games, selected additional championship events and other specialty programming. In addition to the many live games, selected events will be archived for on-demand viewing for a specified time, allowing fans to catch a game they missed, watch it again or check out highlights.
During the 2006-07 academic year, HLN programming will include:

"The services coordinated by the Horizon League, CSTV and all of the campuses show the collective commitment for this venture. HLN is something that the entire League is looking forward to working with for many years to come."
All men's and women's basketball regular-season and tournament games streamed on the Horizon League Network feature at least three camera angles with full audio play-by-play. Games with pre-existing radio calls include the home radio feed, while audio specific to the web cast is added to all other games.
In addition to the HLN video player, the re-designed Horizon League web site will contain a number of other new features, including:
• Rotating scoreboard at the top of the home page that can be personalized by sport.
• A "MyHorizonLeague.org" section on the home page, which will allow viewers to personalize their League news by sport.
• Quicker access to key information directly from the home page, including sport-by-sport championships and schedules
• The return of the "Horizon League Fan Poll", which will be viewable on all pages.
