Horizon League Announces Match-ups Resulting from BracketBusters Pool

The Horizon League announced Tuesday (Jan. 31) the pairings for seven non-conference men's basketball games resulting from the BracketBusters presented by eBay expanded pool of 100 teams.


League teams will host four of the seven games that will be played on Saturday, Feb. 18, as Loyola University Chicago (12-8, 4-6 Horizon League) meets Fairfield University (6-13, 4-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic), the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (11-11, 5-5 HL) welcomes Fairleigh Dickinson University (9-8, 7-2 Northeast), the University of Detroit Mercy (10-13, 4-6 HL) faces the University of Toledo (10-8, 3-7 Mid-American), and Cleveland State University (8-11, 4-5 HL) hosts the University of Delaware (6-13, 2-8 Colonial Athletic).


Games with Horizon League teams on the road include the University of Illinois at Chicago (10-12, 3-7 HL) at Murray State University (14-5, 11-2 Ohio Valley), Wright State University (9-10, 5-4 HL) at Bowling Green State University (7-11, 4-5 Mid-American), and Youngstown State University (7-13, 4-6 HL) at Canisius College (5-14, 4-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic).


On Monday (Jan. 30), the pairings for the 13 televised BracketBusters presented by eBay games were announced with two Horizon League teams in the mix. League-leading and defending champion University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (16-4, 9-1 HL) will host Missouri State University (13-6, 6-5 Missouri Valley), while second-place Butler University (12-8, 5-3 HL) will play at Kent State University (14-6, 8-1 Mid-American). Networks and tip-off times for those games will be announced next Tuesday (Feb. 7) by ESPN, with live broadcasts on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN 360, the network's new video web cast outlet.


As part of the BracketBusters contract, each team agrees to a home-and-home series with its opponent, with the return game to be played in November or December of the following season.
