The Horizon League has announced Oaklands Nicholas Girodat as Men’s Runner of the Week and Milwaukee’s Peter Andrew as Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Oakland’s Nicholas Girodat put in stellar performance this past weekend at the Hillsdale Tune-up. The senior finished 1st/20 in the 60m dash with an incredible time of 6.75. As a result from his finish, Girodat broke his own school record that he set last season.
This is the first Runner of the Week honor that Girodat has received this season

Peter Andrew/Milwaukee/Sophomore/Field/Fond du Lac, Wis.
Peter Andrew posted a personal record in shot put after just registering a personal record of 15.89 last week. Andrew’s new mark sits at 16.52 in which he recorded at the Panther Tune-up where he finished 1ST/13. The sophomore won the even by a whopping 4+ feet and created a new mark which now ranks 3rd in the Horizon League this season. Andrew also competed in the weight throw, placing 6th/14 with a distance of 14.72m.
This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Andrew has received this season The Horizon League have announced Wright State’s Alexandra Brown as Women’s Runner of the Week and Youngstown State’s Jaynee Corbett as Women’s Filed Athlete of the Week.
Alexandra Brown/Wright State /Senior/Distance/Yellow Springs, Ohio.
Senior Alexandra Brown set a school record in the 1 mile run Friday as the Wright State track team competed at the Ball State Quad in Muncie, Indiana. Brown earned first place points when she set the new mark with a time of 5:05.38 as she finished first in the event amongst 22 participants.
This is the first Runner of the Week honor that Brown has received this season.
Jaynee Corbett/Youngstown State/Senior/Field/Corry, Pa.
Corbett competed in two events at the Akron Zips Invitational where she finished amongst the top two in both the weight throw and the shot put. The senior placed 1st/4 in the weight throwing event with a distance of 17.35, marking her second best toss of the year. Corbett recorded a second place finish and a season-best performance in the shot put with a result of 14.60m and now leads the Horizon League by 1.27m in the event.
This is the second Field Athlete of the Week honor that Corbett has received this season.
