The Horizon League has announced Northern Kentucky’s Andrew Schille as Men’s Runner of the Week and Milwaukee’s Jason Hanson as Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Andrew Schille/Northern Kentucky/Junior/Long Distance/Cincinnati, OH.

Andre Schille finished first out of 34 in the 5000 meter run at the YSU College Invitational. Schille’s personal best in the 5000m is 14:31.77, but the NKU junior was still able to pull of the best time of 14.49.24, over one second faster than the second-place finisher.

This is the first Runner of the Week honor that Schille has received this season.

Jason Hanson/Milwaukee/Freshman/High Jump/ Kewaskum, Wis.

First year Jason Hanson posted the top Horizon League mark of the season thus far this past weekend at the  John Tierney Classic for the Panthers. Hanson’s high jump performance placed him 1st/7 with a measure of 2.05m. This mark also moves him into eighth place in school history after just the second meet of his college career.

This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Hanson has received this season

The Horizon League have announced Wright State’s Alexandra Brown as Women’s Runner of the Week and Youngstown State’s Jaynee Corbett as Women’s Filed Athlete of the Week.

Alexandra Brown/Wright State/Senior/Long Distance/Yellow Springs, OH.

Alexandra Brown earned first place in the 3000 meter run at the Fort Wayne Duals. Brown’s finish came at 10:18.86, resulting in a new school record. Wright State defeated Butler, IUPUI, and Valparaiso with the help of Brown’s 1st/29 place finish.

This is the first Runner of the Week honor that Brown has received this season.

Jaynee Corbett/Youngstown State/Senior/Field/Corry, PA.

Corbett helped lead YSU’s impressive field performance in the YSU College Invitational this past weekend. The senior finished 1st/45 in the shot put event with a total distance of 13.79. The Corry native continued her strong performance with a second place finish in the weight throwing event amongst 41 participants, with a final distance of 17.26m.

This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Corbett has received this season.
