The Horizon League has announced Oakland’s Aaron Davis as Men’s Runner of the Week and Youngstown State’s Ryan Booth as Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Aaron Davis registered two first place finishes for the Golden Grizzlies this past weekend at the Tennessee Rust Buster Invitational in Knoxville, TN. Davis recorded the second fastest 200m time in school history at 21.25 seconds, placing 1st/42.  The senior captured his second victory of the meet with a first place finish in the 4x100m relay, breaking the school record with a time of 40.74 seconds. Amongst five teams competing in the event Aaron and company had the top time amongst the five competing teams competing in the event.

This is the first Runner of the Week honor that Davis has received this season.

Ryan Booth / Youngstown State / Junior / Field / Mineral Ridge, Ohio

Booth had a strong showing at the Raleigh Relays, finishing in the top six in two events. With a mark of 17.47 meters, the junior finished 1st/27 in the shot put event. Booth also had a strong performance in the discus event with a sixth place finish of 40.05 meters.

This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Booth has received this season.

The Horizon League has announced Youngstown State's Taylor McDonald and Jaynee Corbett as Women’s Runner and Field Athlete of the Week

Taylor McDonald / Youngstown State / Senio r/ Hurdles / Macedonia, Ohio.

McDonald recorded a personal best in the 400 meter hurdles at the Raleigh Relays this past weekend. The senior placed 3rd/48 with a time of 1:00.48 seconds. McDonald's performance in the 400 meter hurdles also marks the second fastest finish in school history. In the 100 meter hurdle event, the Macedonia native finished 27th amongst 56 with a time of 14.87 seconds.

This is the first Runner of the Week honor that McDonald has received this season.

Jaynee Corbet t/ Youngstown State / Senior / Field / Corry PA.

Jaynee Corbett has continued competing at a high level with her field performance this past weekend at the Raleigh Relays. The senior threw for 14.37 meters in the shot put event, claiming 11th/37.  Corbett also finished in the top half of the discus event. With a mark of 44.58 meters, she placed 14th/41.

This is the first Field Athlete of the Week honor that Corbett has received this season.
