Dikembe Dixson

Hometown: Freeport, Ill.

MediumDixson took the opening Freshman of the Week honor this season. The Freeport, Ill., native led the Flames with a team-high 13 points in UIC’s 78-75 loss to San Francisco on Friday night. The freshman forward scored 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from long distance. He also grabbed two rebounds, one steal and one block in the contest. The 13 points were the most scored by a Horizon League Freshman last week.


Youngstown State

Nikki Thompson

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

MediumThompson averaged 5.73 digs over 11 sets this week, setting two school records as her career came to a close. She had a total of 25 digs in the Penguins loss to Wright State, as well as 12 digs against Valparaiso. In Youngstown State’s sweep of UIC, the senior notched 26 digs; this led her to break her own school record for digs in a season with 510.


Cleveland State

Gina Kilner

Hometown: Cleveland, Ohio

MediumKilner averaged 11.27 assists per set through three matches this week. In CSU’s sweep of NKU, the sophomore had 40 assists, leading CSU to a season high .385 hitting percentage. She notched 42 assists on 48 kills in the 3-1 victory over UIC. With 42 assists against Valparaiso she became the eighth Viking all-time to surpass 1,800 assists, ending the match with 1,825 career helpers.


Oakland

Taylor Jones

Hometown: Detroit, Mich.

MediumJones posted a game-high 23 points in her first-ever collegiate game for the Golden Grizzlies while going 10-for-15 from the floor against UM-Dearborn. The freshman also tallied seven rebounds and another game-high five steals off the bench in her 18 minutes of work. Two days later versus Central Michigan, Jones once again led the squad in points with 23 on 8-of-9 shooting. Overall for the weekend, she posted a 75.0 field goal percentage and 62.5 3-point field goal percentage.


Green Bay

Carrington Love

Hometown: Milwaukee, Wis.

MediumLove scored a career-high 32 points in Green Bay’s opening night overtime loss at Stanford. He shot 9-of-17 from the field as GB built a 10-point first half lead. Love connected on 6-of-9 three-pointers in the game. The six treys were a career-High. His 32 points tied for the third-most in the NCAA on opening night and were the most in the HL in the opening weekend. The senior guard added three rebounds, four assists and a game-high four steals.


Green Bay

Kaili Lukan

Hometown: Barrie, Ontario

MediumLukan led the Phoenix as she recorded the second double-double of her career with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. The senior shot 47.1 percent from the field (8-for-17) while netting three of five from behind the arc. In addition, Lukan paced the Phoenix in steals with three and blocks (2). Lukan’s first double-double came against South Dakota State in 2013 where she scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on the road for Green Bay.


Oakland

Patricia Aschan

Hometown: Raisio, Finland

MediumAschan collected three individual wins at the Oakland tri-meet, helping the Golden Grizzlies go 2-0. Swimming the 200 fly, 200 back and 200 IM, Aschan took first before leading Oakland's 200 medley relay to a win.


Wright State

Samantha TenEyck

Hometown: Millbury, Ohio

MediumTenEyck took first on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at the Oakland tri-meet.


Wright State

Mitch Stover

Hometown: Versailles, Ohio

MediumStover took first in three separate events at the Oakland tri-meet, winning the 100 back, 200 back and 200 IM.


Oakland

Joe Smith

Hometown: Chelsea, Mich.

MediumSmith took first on the 3-meter board at the Oakland tri-meet, posting a 293.05 to best five other divers.
