MediumKnight went 1-0 this past week for the Vikings after starting two contests and pitching 11 innings. The senior posted a 1.27 earned run average while only allowing six hits, two earned runs and fanned seven batters. Knight also held batters to a .154 batting against average.


Youngstown State

Sarah Dowd

Hometown: Pottstown, Pa.

MediumDowd went 4-for-9 (.444) at the plate this weekend for the Penguins with four runs scored, a triple, six RBI and three walks. The junior hit a two-run walk-off home run to help the team defeat Toledo 4-3 and also hit a grand slam in Youngstown State's 9-8 victory over UMass.

Hometown: Colombes, France

MediumOrange helped Cleveland State collect its third straight win, rolling to a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles.

Joe VanMeter

Hometown: Indianapolis

MediumVanMeter went 3-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles, helping lead Cleveland State to a 2-1 performance over the weekend.


Youngstown State

Chad Zallow

Hometown: Warren, OH

MediumZallow claimed first in the 60 meter hurdles at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational. With a time of 7.75 seconds, the freshman broke his own school record of 7.79. He currently ranks 10th in the nation. Zallow is earning his second Runner of the Week honor this season.


Detroit Mercy

Ben Kendell

Hometown: Huntington Woods, Mich.

MediumKendell placed fifth in the 5,000 meter run at the GVSU Big Meet, improving upon his all-time Detroit record with a time of 14:21.69. The sophomore finished fifth in a field of 154 runners and third among collegiate runners with two unattached runners ahead of him.


Youngstown State

Nina Grambling

Hometown: Canton, OH

MediumGrambling had an impressive showing at the SPIRE NCAA DI Invitational. The senior placed fourth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.57 seconds. She finished ninth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.55 seconds. Grambling sits at the top of the Horizon League in both events so far this season. This is the second time she has received Runner of the Week accolades.


UIC

Ariel Gibbs

Hometown: Pembroke Township, Ill.

MediumGibbs finished first in the long jump at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships. With a jump of 5.76 meters, the junior broke the UIC school record.


Milwaukee

Brett Pozolinski

Hometown: Kimberly, Wis.

MediumPozolinski took first in the high jump at the UW-Platteville Invite. A week after tying the school record, the senior shattered the record by two inches with a height of 2.19 meters. This mark is tied for seventh in the NCAA this year. His mark also claims a new Horizon League record of 2.18 meters, previously set in 1993. Pozolinski is receiving Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in a row.
