Youngstown State

Cali Mikovich

Hometown: Canfield, Ohio

MediumMikovich led the Penguins to a 6-1 week while recording a .400 batting average with five home runs, a triple and 11 RBI. The sophomore had three multi-hit games and at least one hit in the final six games of the week for Youngstown State. In addition, Mikovich totaled 27 bases in her efforts this week along with two walks and three stolen bases.


Wright State

Ashley Sharp

Hometown: West Chester, Ohio

MediumSharp pitched a two-hit shutout with two strikeouts in the win over Dayton before beginning conference play over the weekend against Green Bay. The sophomore then produced a two-hit shutout with a career-best six strikeouts in the first game of the series while retiring the first 16 batters. Sharp threw a complete-game win with three strikeouts in the finale.


Oakland

Zach Sterry

Hometown: Mansfield, Ohio

MediumSterry led Oakland in batting, slugging, and on-base percentage in the Golden Grizzlies’ sweep of Northern Kentucky, hitting .500, with a .917 slugging percentage, and .571 on-base percentage. In the series opener the junior went three for five with two doubles. In the finale, Sterry went two for four with two runs scored. Four of his six hits were for extra bases.


Milwaukee

Adam Reuss

Hometown: Gurnee, Ill.

MediumReuss closed out Milwaukee’s sweep of Youngstown State with a brilliant outing, pitching six innings in the victory. The junior allowed a two-out single in the first inning before retiring the final 16 batters he faced. In addition, Reuss fanned four hitters and did not walk a batter during his strong showing.


Milwaukee

Silas Petrie

Hometown: Billion, Wis.

MediumPetrie had a strong showing in field events at the Edmonds Invite Saturday. Taking first in the discus with a throw of 45.71 meters, he set a new personal record as his throw ranks fourth in Milwaukee history. With a heave of 53.29 meters, the junior placed third in the hammer. Coming back for one more event, Petrie came in sixth in the shot put with a toss of 13.75 meters.


Oakland

Kendell Jefferson

Hometown: Wyoming, Michigan

MediumJefferson placed seventh in the 100 meter dash at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational with a time of 12.27, setting the top mark in the Horizon League this season. Running the second leg of the 4x100 meter relay, the sophomore contributed to the seventh place finish, setting a new school record of 46.77.


Oakland

Nicholas Girodat

Hometown: Ann Arbor, Michigan

MediumGirodat took home two victories at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational. Setting the top mark in the Horizon League, the junior placed first in the 100 meter dash running a time of 10.63. With a time of 21.50, Girodat crossed the finish line first in the 200 meter dash.


Milwaukee

Alize Souter

Hometown: Milwaukee, Wis.

MediumSouter had a personal record setting day in the field events at the Edmonds Invite. Clearing a height of 1.66 meters, the sophomore claimed first in the high jump. The jump sits as the sixth best mark in Milwaukee history. Now fifth in Milwaukee history, Souter jumped 12.26 meters to take first in the triple jump.


Cleveland State

Isabella Spindler

Hometown: Clarkston, Mich.

MissingSpindler was one of three Vikings to go 2-0 in singles play on the weekend, picking up a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles against Wright State and a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles against NKU. She was also instrumental in Cleveland State picking up both doubles points on the weekend, as she teamed with Aleksandra Golawska to post matching 6-3 victories at No. 1 doubles against the Raiders and Norse.


Northern Kentucky

Mate Virag

Hometown: Szentes, Hungary

MediumThe Szentes, Hungary, native went 2-0 at No. 1 singles to lead the Norse to a pair of 4-3 victories over Youngstown State and Cleveland State last weekend. The junior helped NKU open Horizon League play at 2-0 as part of a three-match win streak.


Detroit Mercy

Sarah Thompson

Hometown: Canton, Mich.

MediumThompson helped Detroit defeat Dayton in a dual at the Robert Trent Jones Challenge in Mobile, Alabama, last week. She won by three strokes with a season-low 153 (75-78) in the 36-hole event. The win was the 23rd by an individual in Titan history as well as the 22nd team title. She currently leads the team with a 78.9 average and three top-10 finishes on the season.


Cleveland State

Blake Prince

Hometown: East Liverpool, Ohio

MediumPrince helped the Vikings claim the Villanova Wildcat Invitational title.He was CSU's top finisher at the event, tying for third in the 113 player field with rounds of 72-74 (146), finishing just three shots behind the medalist and one shot behind the runner-up.
