Paige Lincicum

Hometown: Cary, Ill.

MediumLincicum made four saves against Wright State to secure a 1-0 shutout on Saturday, moving Milwaukee to 2-0 in Horizon League play. The shutout was the second of the season for Lincicum and seventh of her career. In a midweek, non-conference match against crosstown rival Marquette, the junior turned in five saves in a 1-1 draw. Also honored on Sept. 14, Lincicum is collecting defensive player of the week accolades for the second time this season.

Vickie Havas

Hometown: Stow, Ohio

MediumHavas scored the winning goal in Cleveland State’s 1-0 win over Detroit on Saturday. The goal, her fourth of the season, was the twentieth of her career, placing her atop CSU’s all-time goals scored list. All four of Havas’ goals this season have been game-winners. The honor marks Havas’ second recognition this season as offensive player of the week.

Nico Campbell

Hometown: Kingston, Jamaica

MediumNico Campbell recorded two shutouts in the Crusaders 2-0 week while holding opponents to a 0.00 goals-against average and making six saves in 180 minutes of work. The junior extended his shutout streak to 363 minutes while earning a win in goal over a ranked opponent for the third-straight season.


Valparaiso

Stian Sandbekkhaug

Hometown: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

MediumStian Sandbekkhaug posted three points on one goal and one assist for the Crusaders over the week as the squad defeated No. 18 Western Michigan and conference-foe Cleveland State. Sanbekkhaug assisted on the insurance goal versus WMU in the 2-0 victory and scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute in the 1-0 win over the Vikings.

Ashlyn Woods

Hometown: Painesville, Ohio

MediumAshlyn Woods finished twelfth at the LHU Invitational this past weekend while running against 258 fellow competitors. The junior crossed the 6K finish line in a time of 22:25 to make the second-fastest 6K time in Cleveland State history. In addition, her 5K split of 18:44 also ranks second in Viking history.

Alex Bashqawi

Hometown: Lockport, Ill.

MediumAlex Bashqawi took top honors at the College of DuPage Invite for the Flames as he set a new personal-best time in an 8K race by seven seconds. The sophomore won the race for the second-consecutive year and crossed the line with a time of 25:00.0

Stephenee Yancy

Hometown: Aroma Park, Ill.

MediumYancy averaged 5.75 kills per set in the two matches while attacking at a clip of .500 (46-9-74). She led all HL players in both statistical categories last week. In the League opener against WSU, Yancy led all players with 20 kills and six blocks as UIC won, 3-1 victory. Against the Norse, Yancy matched a season high with 26 kills while hitting a career-high .629 on 35 attempts.

Casey Harris

Hometown: Chicago, Ill.

MediumHarris served as a force at the net for the Flames in road wins at Wright State and Northern Kentucky. The junior led the entire HL with 1.38 blocks per set. In the victory at WSU on Sept. 25, Harris posted a four blocks, including one solo, while also chipping in offensively with seven kills on 10 swings for a .600 hitting percentage in UIC’s 3-1 win. Against the Norse, Harris secured a season-high seven blocks in the 3-1 victory to lead all players in the match.
