Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week (April 10)

INDIANAPOLIS – Trey Ganns of Northern Kentucky hit four home runs and drove in 12 runs last week and is this week’s Horizon League Batter of the Week. Jake Dahlberg of UIC struck out eight in 6.1 innings of shutout baseball and is the Pitcher of the Week.

Ganns hit four home runs, drove in 12 and scored five runs scored across four games last week including a midweek game vs. Eastern Kentucky and a three-game series at Valparaiso.

On Sunday, the junior hit three home runs including a grand slam to post eight RBI and lead Northern Kentucky to an 18-7 win over Valpo. He hit a three-run home run against EKU on Tuesday and slugged 1.000 on the week.

Dahlberg fired 6.1 scoreless innings Friday afternoon as he helped UIC knock off Oakland in Horizon League play, 5-1. The senior struck out eight Golden Grizzlies and walked only one as he secured his fifth consecutive victory for the Flames.
