The No. 15 Milwaukee women's soccer team, who rolled to a perfect record in Horizon League play, will now host its first NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament match at Engelmann Stadium Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET. The Horizon League Network will have live coverage of the Milwaukee-Illinois State match.
The Panthers and Redbirds faced off during the regular season with ISU scoring a 3-1 upset in Normal. The winner of Saturday's first-round contest will hit the road to take on the winner of Tennessee/Ohio State Nov. 18, tentatively scheduled for Durham, N.C.
As she has done in all four years, Sarah Hagen has put up historic numbers in her senior season. Hagen is leading the country in both goals and points per game. Her 56 points are a school and Horizon League record, eclipsing Cynthia Morote-Ariza's league mark of 55 and Hagen's school mark of 54, both of which came in the 2008 season. Her 24 goals have also equaled her own school and league records for goals in a season, which she set as a freshman and tied as a sophomore.
Engelmann Stadium has proven to be tough place for visitors, as the Panthers 55-6-6 at home since 2005, including a 24-match unbeaten streak that ended in 2009.
