INDIANAPOLIS - Horizon League Commissioner Jonathan B. LeCrone announced Thursday (Oct. 12) the promotions of several League office staff members.

Receiving promotions are Cindy French to Senior Executive Assistant/Director of Administration, Stephanie Jarvis to Associate Commissioner for Compliance and Legal Affairs, and Will Roleson to Associate Commissioner for Communications and Multimedia.

"These promotions complete our staffing plan for the year and, more importantly, recognize the contributions and expanded responsibilities of Cindy, Stephanie and Will," said LeCrone. "Their leadership has been a key ingredient to our progress, and I look forward to what they can help us accomplish in the future."

French joined the Horizon League staff in 2004 as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner following 15 years at Indianapolis-based USA Gymnastics. She is responsible for the daily operations of the League office, while also providing assistance to the Commissioner in the areas of meeting planning and travel. Her duties also include providing and support and assistance to the Horizon League Board of Directors, Executive Council and athletic directors. An Indianapolis native, she also assists Commissioner LeCrone with his responsibilities as a member of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee.

Jarvis is in her eighth year as a member of the Horizon League staff and serving the last four as Assistant Commissioner for Compliance and Legal Affairs and the previous three as director of the same areas. She handles all legal and compliance issues for the League and serves as the advisor to the Horizon League's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition, she is the sport administrator for men's and women's swimming and diving, tennis and outdoor track and field. Jarvis previously worked in the compliance office at the University of Cincinnati from 1997-99 while attending law school. A native of Dayton, Ohio, she holds a bachelor's degree in French language and literature from Northwestern University in 1996 and a law degree from Cincinnati in 1999. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio and Indiana.

Roleson is in his third year on the Horizon League staff and served previously as Assistant Commissioner for Communications. He coordinates the League's communications efforts and serves as the producer for the Horizon League Network (HLN), the new broadband channel devoted to Horizon League sports. In addition, he is the liaison to the League's media partners, including ESPN and CSTV, and assists with future scheduling for men's and women's basketball. Prior to joining the League staff, Roleson was the SID at Kent State from 1999-2004 following three years as assistant SID. A native of Brookville, Ind., he earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Miami University in 1993. He recently was named to a three-year term as an at-large representative to the Board of Directors of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

In addition to those named, the Horizon League full-time staff includes Alfreeda Goff (Senior Associate Commissioner/Chief of Staff), Joel Barnhill (Assistant Commissioner for Marketing, Licensing and Event Operations), Robert Hester (Director of Communications), Nate Flannery (Assistant Director of Communications) and Lindsay Martin (Administrative Assistant for External Operations). Beth Opell works part-time as Director of Finance, while Amber Feldman (communications) and Jason Balach (administrative) serve as interns.
