Horizon League Golfers of the Week (April 19)

INDIANPOLIS – Youngstown State freshman Reva Morris shot an even-par 72 to take top honors at the Pine Hills Shootout and has been named Horizon League Women’s Golfer of the Week. Peter Webb of Valparaiso is the Men’s Golfer of the Week after he fired a 68 in the first round of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational on his way to a third place finish.

MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | PETER WEBB | VALPARAISO | SENIOR | MADISON, WIS.
Webb continued his stellar senior season with another strong performance at Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie. He carded a 209 in the event to finish in third of 85. Webb's best round was Round 1, when he stroked a 68. He finished one stroke under par and one stroke behind the two players who tied for first. Webb led all Horizon League golfers in a field that also included Cleveland State, Wright State, Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State. Since the Valpo men's golf program resumed in 2009, there have been 23 rounds of 68 or lower. Webb owns over half (12) of those rounds.

This is Webb’s second Golfer of the Week honor of the season.

WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK | REVA MORRIS | YOUNGSTOWN STATE | FRESHMAN | NEWBERRY, OHIO.
Morris won the Pine Hills Shootout with an even-par round of 72. The freshman from Newberry, Ohio, won the event by four strokes. For the season, Morris has earned nine top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments. She helped the Penguins to the team title in the three-way meet against Cleveland State and Bowling Green.

This is Morris’ first Horizon League Golfer of the Week Honor.
