Horizon League Golfers of the Week (March 22)

INDIANPOLIS – Wright State senior Ryan Wenzler fired a seven-under 209 to place third at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate and has been named Horizon League Golfer of the Week. Sarah Thompson of Detroit Mercy is the women’s Golfer of the Week after finishing in a tie for 11th place at the Cardinal Challenge.

Men’s Golfer of the Week | Ryan Wenzler, Wright State, Sr., Centerville
Wenzler shot 74-67-68=209 good for seven under and a third place finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate this week.  The 67 was the best of his Spring so far as he led the Raiders to a tie for fifth place.  The Wright State Invitational is next up April 3-4.

Women’s Golfer of the Week | Sarah Thompson, Detroit Mercy, Sr., Canton, Mich.
Senior Sarah Thompson finished just outside the top 10 at the Cardinal Challenge, hosted by Lamar University at the Par 71, 6,008-yard Beaumont Country Club.

Thompson led Detroit Mercy from the very start and claimed 11th overall with a 234 (78, 76, 80). The event marked her 22nd career top-20 effort as she was just a few strokes outside the top 10.
