INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Milwaukee sophomore sprinter Tyler Bucholz and Detroit junior sprinter Tiffany James were selected Horizon League men's and women's track Athletes of the Week based on their performances this past weekend.

Male Athlete of the Week
Tyler Bucholz
Milwaukee
So., Crystal Lake, Minn.
Bucholz won the 200-meter dash at the Northern Iowa Invitational this past weekend while competing at the Northern Iowa Invitational in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Bucholz's time in the event was the third-fastest performance in school history and the top time among League individuals this season. In addition, Bucholz ran a time of 7.04 seconds in the preliminary heat of the 60-meter dash.

Female Athlete of the Week
Tiffany James
Detroit
Jr., Westland, Mich.
James clocked a time of 7.80 seconds and took fourth in the 60-meter dash, while competing at the Michigan Intercollegite in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Michigan native's time in 60-meter event is the top performance among League individuals this season. James was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished fifth in a time of 4:02.29.

Other Men's Top Performers for the Week
Kent Wories
Butler
Sr., Edwardsville, Ill.
Wories ran a personal best for the second consecutive meet and turned in Butler's best individual finish at the Indiana Relays. Wories placed sixth in the men's 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:05.80.

Andrew Hayner
Detroit
Sr., Royal Oak, Mich.
Hayner recorded a third-place finish in the mile at the Akron Elite Open with a personal-best time of 4:20.39, which was the 11th best showing in school history.

Joe Mahalick
Loyola
Sr., Joliet, Ill.Mahalick paced the Ramblers at the Indiana Relays as he ran a season-best 1:57.02 in the men's 800-meter run. Mahalick placed 12th out of 39 competitors.

Terell Williams
UIC
Sr., Rock Island, Ill.
Williams paced UIC at the University of Chicago Invitational as he won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.11 seconds. Williams also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.54 meters and sixth in the pole vault (4.28m) and high jump (1.77m).

Aaron Merrill
Youngstown State
Jr., Leetonia, Ohio
In his first meet this season, Merrill posted the League's best throw this season in the shot put with a mark of 53 feet, 7.75 inches, which earned him a fifth-place finish in the elite Gold Division of the shot put at the Akron Elite Open. He also recorded a personal-best mark in the weight throw (51 feet, 5 inches), which ranks him fifth in YSU history.

Sarah Kemple
Butler
Sr., Arlington, Ind.
Kemple ran her fastest 5,000 meter time in three years and placed 14th at the Indiana Relays with a time of 18:22.45.

Pam Staton
Loyola
Jr., Ingleside, Ill.
Staton recorded a career-best time of 2:15.02 to finish sixth in the women's 800-meter run at the Indiana Relays. Staton also posted a time of 5:07.26 in the mile for a ninth-place finish.

Holly Nearman
Milwaukee
Jr., Monroe, Wis.
Nearman won the 3,000-meter run, while competing at the Northern Iowa Invitational this past weekend. The UWM junior finished the race in a time of 10:13.41, which ranks as the eight-best time in school history.

Monique Bostert
UIC
So., Glendale Heights, Ill.
Bostert competed at the Chicago Invitational this past Saturday and won the weight throw title for the first time this season with a toss of 15.24 meters. Bostert also registered a fifth-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 38 feet, 3.25 inches.

Natalie Hopwood
Wright State
Fr., Huber Heights, Ohio
Hopwood posted a pair of top 25 finishes in the 5,000 and 3,000-meter runs at the Indiana Relays. The freshman finished 24th in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:04.39 and posted a time of 19:22.64 in the 5,000 meter run to finish 20th.

Alisha Anthony
Youngstown State
So., Van Wert, Ohio
Anthony won the long jump in the Gold Division at the Akron Elite Open with a collegiate-best mark of 19 feet, 2 inches, which is the top distance by a Horizon League student-athlete this year.
