INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - UIC senior sprinter Terell Williams and Valparaiso junior sprinter Amanda Body were selected Horizon League men's and women's track Athletes of the Week based on their performances this past weekend.

Male Athlete of the Week
Terell Williams
UIC
Sr., Rock Island, Ill.
Williams set a personal-best mark in the pole vault with a mark of 15 feet, 5 inches to win the event, while competing at the Dick Pond Invitational on Saturday. Williams also added a third-place finish in the triple jump (43-7) and a fourth-place effort in the long jump (21-8). His pole vault and long jump results moved him into second and third place, respectively, among League individuals.

Female Athlete of the Week
Amanda Body
Valparaiso
Jr., Harlan, Ky.
Body posted four individual top-two finishes at the DePauw Invitational on Saturday as she earned event victories in the 200-meter dash (26.18) and triple jump (36 feet, 7.50 inches). The Valpo junior came in second in the 55m dash (7.41 seconds, second-fastest time in school history) and long jump (17-6.75). Body also ran leadoff for 4x400m team that won by more than three seconds in a time of 4:06.75.

Other Men's Top Performers for the Week
Andy Baker
Butler
So., Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
Baker finished with a lifetime best time of 14:12.73 to finish second in the 5,000-meter run at the Meyo Invitational. His time in the event was the third-fastest in Butler history. In addition, Baker's time in the event was just shy of the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 14:10.

Lesley Hanna
Detroit
Fr., Exuma, Bahamas
Hanna led the way for the Titans this past weekend at the Windsor Team Challenge in Windsor, Ontario, as she broke the school record in the 300-meter run, clocking a time of 35.21 to win the event. Hanna also was part of Detroit's first place 4x200-meter relay team, which set a school standard as it posted a time of 1:31.42.

Joe Mahalick
Loyola
Sr., Joliet, Ill.
Mahalick recorded a time of 1:05.19 in the men's 500-meter run to finish 10th. His time in the event was just nine-one-hundredths of a second shy of the school record set by Donte Prsiby earlier this season. The LU senior also posted a time of 1:54.41 in the 800-meter run.

Steve Bartholomew
Valparaiso
Sr., Valparaiso, Ind.
Bartholomew began the week on Friday evening at Meyo Invitational and set a school record with a toss of 61 feet, 0.75 inches in the shot put to finish sixth. The Valpo senior then followed up with a mark of 61-0 at the DePauw Invitational on Saturday to take the event crown by nearly a foot.

Jerrill Hall
Youngstown State
Fr., Maple Heights, Ohio
Hall finished second in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.44 seconds at the Roo Town Open. His time ranks second in school history and third in the Horizon League this season. The freshman also placed fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 2.25 inches.

Genni Gardner
Butler
Jr., Bramley, U.K.
Gardner posted a personal best time of 9:36.23 and finished seventh in the women's 3,000 meter run, while competing at the Meyo Invitational. Her time was less than three seconds off the national qualifying standard of 9:34.

Brittany Horne
Detriot
Jr., Okemos, Mich.
Horne was the top finisher on the day for the Titans over the weekend at the Windsor Team Challenge in Windsor, Ontario. The Michigan native placed second in the shot put with a toss of 41 feet, 4.75 inches.

Pam Staton
Loyola
Jr., Ingleside, Ill.
Staton set a Loyola school record in the 500-meter run at the Meyo Invitational as she posted a time of 1:18.56. Her time in the event was three seconds faster than the previous school standard. Staton also recorded a performance of 2:15.56 in the 800-meter run.

Jes Weyandt
Milwaukee
Jr., Iron River, Wis.
Weyandt won the pole vault at the Dick Pond Invitational this past weekend as she cleared a height of 11 feet, 2 inches.

Idara Essien
UIC
Sr., Wheaton, Ill.
Essien captured her second consecutive triple jump crown with a leap of 38 feet, 5.50 inches at the Dick Pond Invitational this past Saturday.

Bethany Anderson
Youngstown State
Sr., Jamestown, N.Y.
Anderson made her debut at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational over the weekend and placed ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 57 feet, 1 inch. Her mark in the event is the top performance in the League this season by more than four feet.
