Valparaiso (3-3-3, 0-1-1) travels to Green Bay (5-2-2,0-0-0) to continue league play as they face the Phoenix Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. EST. This will be the first league match for Green Bay and the third for the Crusaders.

Last Time Out

Valparaiso Crusaders: The Crusaders traveled to Ohio for matchups against Wright State and #19 Dayton. Valparaiso lost both games 2-0, failing to come back from early game deficits.

Green Bay Phoenix:  The Phoenix finished their five-game away span with a 2-1 win over UNC Asheville Tuesday afternoon. Green Bay got the lead and eventual game-winner off of a penalty kick by Lawrence Talery early in the second half.

Oakland (3-2-4, 1-0-1) hosts Detroit (1-4-4, 0-1-0) at OU Soccer Field Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. EST. This will be the first Horizon League matchup between the two teams despite having a long-standing in-state rivalry.

Going into this Saturday’s match, Oakland and Detroit have met on 22 previous occasions. The Grizzlies lead the all-time series 11-5-6 and defeated the Titans 4-0 in their last meeting.

Last Time Out

Detroit Titans: The Titans got their first victory of the season against IPFW Tuesday night. The game-winning goal came from Jason Leslie early in the second half, while Adam Bedell had his second multi-goal game of the season with two.

Oakland Grizzlies: Oakland got its first Horizon League victory in school history last weekend against Cleveland State, outmatching the Vikings 2-1. Goalkeeper Sean Lewis was named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts finishing with six saves and recording his third shutout of the season in a 0-0 game against Michigan earlier in the week.

8:00 p.m. – Wright State at Milwaukee – HLN

Wright State (3-4-1, 1-0-0) travels to undefeated Milwaukee (8-0-1, 1-0-0) for a Saturday night game Oct. 5 at Engelmann Stadium. The Panthers are currently ranked No. 6 in the NSCAA Great Lakes poll and the Raiders are coming off of their second straight shutout.

Last Time Out

Wright State Raiders: Wright State recorded its second straight shutout against IUPUI Tuesday night in Indianapolis. Freshman defender Jacob Stovall recorded his first career goal and eventual game-winner in the 2-0 victory.

Milwaukee Panthers: Milwaukee continued its winning streak against Nebraska Omaha in an exciting 3-1 victory. The three goals scored in less than 10 minutes by the Panthers continued the program’s best start to a season since 1985.

8:00 p.m. – Cleveland State at UIC

Cleveland State (3-7-0, 0-1-0) takes on UIC (6-3-0, 0-0-0) Saturday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. EST at Flames Field. This will be the second Horizon League match for the Vikings and the first for the Flames on the season.

Matchup History

The Vikings are 3-3-2 all-time against the Flames with Cleveland State edging out UIC 1-0 last year.

Last Time Out

Cleveland State Vikings: Cleveland State fell to Cincinnati 1-0 on Wednesday night at Krenzler Field. Despite outshooting the Bearcats 14-3, the Vikings could not find the back of the net but were able to hold a tough defensive effort all night.

UIC Flames: UIC traveled to East Lansing to take on No. 25 Michigan State Tuesday night but snapped their six-game win streak with a 2-0 loss. Five of the six matches during their win streak were shutouts for the Flames.
