Milwaukee, Wis. / Indianapolis, Ind. - Seniors Neil Dombrowski and Kyle Zenoni of UW-Milwaukee were both selected in the 2006 Major Indoor Soccer League College Draft on Wednesday (Mar. 9). The Milwaukee Wave chose Dombrowski in the first round, while Zenoni was a second round choice of the Chicago Storm.

Dombrowski was an All-Horizon League First Team choice this past fall, leading the team with 23 points (9G/5A). He was also a member of the Horizon League All-Tournament Team and selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Great Lakes Region Second Team. He finished his UWM career with 54 points (18G/18A) in 86 games and excelled off the field as well, earning Academic All-America honors.

He is the latest of the Dombrowski family to play for the Panthers and have a chance to further his career professionally. Brothers Scott (at UWM 1997-2000), Chad (1999-2002) and Tighe (2000-2003) have all played professionally, with Chad a current star with the Wave.

Zenoni was a team captain and a mainstay in the midfield, helping the team to a school-record 12 shutouts on the season. He scored two goals, including the game-winner against UNLV Sept. 4. The four-year starter finished with 10 goals and eight assists in 83 games.

This marks the second-straight season that two Panthers have been taken in the MISL Draft. A year ago, Antou Jallow (Chicago Storm) and Trent Furtsch (Milwaukee Wave) were both selected in the second round.

Butler's John Mariscalco was selected by the expansion Detroit franchise in the fourth round of the MISL draft, but the four-year starter has other plans on his agenda. Mariscalco has been invited to join the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer as an unrestricted free agent in preparation for the 2006 season which opens April 1.

Mariscalco started 82 games at defensive back and defensive midfield at Butler, helping the Bulldogs to a league regular season co-championship in 2004. He was a two-year team captain and a first team All-Horizon League pick. He named to the Horizon League All Newcomer Team in 2002 and was a three-time Academic All-League pick. He also was named to the NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Team in 2004.

Mariscalco follows his older brother Mike, who was drafted by Dallas in 2003. Mike Mariscalco finished a four-year career at Butler as the Bulldogs' all-time assist leader.
