INDIANAPOLIS- UIC's Lexi Watts has been selected as the Player of the Week and Oakland's Erin Kownacki has been named Horizon League Pitcher of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.

Lexi Watts / UIC / Sophomore / Center Fielder / Murrieta, Calif.

In 17 plate appearances, Watts tallied eight hits for a.471 batting average on the five-game road trip. In the Flames route over South Dakota, the sophomore hit a tournament best 3-3. Of the five games the center fielder played in, Watts had multi-hit games in three games. For the weekend, the California native led the team in hits (8), runs batted in (2) and runs (3) to help UIC notch two more wins on the campaign.

Erin Kownacki / Oakland / Senior / Pitcher / Armada, Mich.

Kownacki tossed another complete game shutout against Ball State in Oakland's 1-0 victory over the Cardinals. The senior recorded four strikeouts in the closely contested game. The pitcher ended the weekend in an unfamiliar role by picking up her first career save in the Golden Grizzlies 7-4 win over Morgan State in extra innings.
