INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee freshman, Eszter Zador has been named women's tennis player of the week while Valparaiso senior, Kyle Dunn has been tabbed as the men's player of the week.
SINGLES
Eszter Zador / Freshman / Milwaukee / Budapest, Hungary
Zador, playing as the No. 2 spot, clinched match point for Milwaukee to breeze past Northern Illinois 5-2. The freshman won the point in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 to help the Panthers gain their fourth win on the year. Zador has won her last two matches in a row and has either played as the team's No. 1 or No. 2 all season.
Kyle Dunn / Senior / Valparaiso / Fond du Lac, Wis.
Dunn finished the week with a 3-0 record during the team's spring trip to Florida. The senior won each point in straight sets including the Crusaders match versus Fairleigh Dickinson in which Dunn played as the team's No. 1 in singles play. The Fond du lac, Wis. native posted his 83rd career singles wins which ties for second best in program history with fellow senior, Charlie Emhardt. Dunn is currently 18-6 in singles play on the season and has gone 9-1 in his last ten matches.
DOUBLES
Berta Masdevall Masip & Alysa Straub / Milwaukee
Masip and Straub took care of business taking down Northern Illinois' No. 1 doubles team 6-4 to clinch the doubles point for Milwaukee. The doubles point helped push the Panthers past the Huskies 5-2 in the match.
Jeffrey Schorsch & Charlie Emhardt / Valparaiso
Schorsch and Emhardt played together in doubles twice this week, both times as the team's No. 1, and recorded two wins. Versus Saint Leo, The senior duo breezed to a 6-3 win and followed up with a 6-1 rout against Fairleigh Dickinson. The pair is currently the No. 10 doubles team in the nation and has been instrumental to Valparaiso's 14-1 record on the season.
