INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso's Jeffrey Schorsch continued his streak of dominance this week and picked up his league-best third player of the week honor. Also picking up weekly honors for the second consecutive week was Isabella Spindler as she notched two straight set wins for Cleveland State.

SINGLES

Jeffrey Schorsch / Valparaiso / Senior / Perrysburg, Ohio

Schorsch put his 11 match win streak on the line against Youngstown State and Cleveland State and came away with two straight set wins on the week. Playing both matches as the team's No. 1, the senior cruised to 6-3, 6-1 win against the Penguins and followed up with 6-0, 6-3 victory versus the Vikings. Schorsch's performance helped guide Valparaiso to back-to-back shutout 7-0 wins to improve the team's record to 16-1 on the season including a perfect 3-0 start to league play.

Isabella Spindler / Cleveland State / Sophomore / Clarkston, Mich.

Spindler didn't miss a beat coming off of last week's player of the week performance and tallied two straight set victories as the top player for Cleveland State. Against UIC, the sophomore grinded to a 7-6 victory in the first set before closing out the point with a 6-3 win. The Clarkston, Mich., native closed out the weekend with a convincing 6-3, 6-0 win against Valparaiso. The Vikings won both matches on the weekend to open Horizon League play with a 2-0 record.

DOUBLES

Jeffrey Schorsch and Charlie Emhardt / Valparaiso

Schorsch and Emhardt playing as the top doubles team for the Crusaders continued their strong play on the season by taking down Youngstown State's No. 1 team 6-4. The pair has won their last four matches and is the 12th ranked doubles team in the nation according to Oracle/ITA's latest ranking.

Melika LeBlanc and Rachel Le Comber / UIC

LeBlanc and Le Comber continued their impressive performance winning both matches they played this weekend as UIC's No. 1 doubles team. The duo won each of their sets 6-2 on Friday against Youngstown State and on Saturday versus Cleveland State. The junior/sophomore pair is now 7-3 on the season playing as UIC's top doubles team.
