INDIANAPOLIS – The Horizon League has announced this week’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week, with Milwaukee’s Nate Pozolinski and Valparaiso’s Liz Owen claiming Runner of the Week honors and Jason Hanson of Milwaukee and Wright State’s Maria Heckman earning Field Athlete of the Week nods.

MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK:
Nate Pozolinski | Milwaukee | Senior | Kimberly, Wis.
Pozolinski finished runner-up at 108th running of Drake Relays in 110m hurdles, clocking  a time of 13.83 in the final after posting a 13.75 in the preliminary round. The senior is one of just three Division I runners to break 13.90 or better five times this season. Pozolinkski also helped the shuttle hurdle relay to its third final at Drake in the last five years.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Jason Hanson | Milwaukee | Freshman | Fond du Lac, Wis.
Hanson set a new personal best in the men’s high jump competition at the Drake Alternative, clearing the bar at 2.1 meters. The mark is ranks No. 40 in the NCAA West Region and gives Hanson a win in every meet he’s registered a height this season.

WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK:
Liz Owen | Valparaiso | Senior | Freedom, Wis.
Owen set the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Gina Relays, recording a time of 10:37.45. Her effort was three seconds better than the previous Valpo best and places her 46th on the NCAA East Regional list.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK:
Maria Heckman | Wright State | 
Heckman set a new Wright State record in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.8 meters at the RedHawk Invitational.
