Horizon League Volleyball Players of the Week (October 2)
INDIANAPOLIS- Oakland outside hitter Darien Bandel led the Golden Grizzlies to a perfect 2-0 weekend at home, averaging a league high 6.29 kills per set. Bandel is the Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. IUPUI libero Jessica Helms led the Jags with 39 total digs this week as they picked up a road win over Youngstown State. Helms is the Horizon League Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Darien Bandel averaged 6.29 kills per set and hit .376 against Wright State and Northern Kentucky last weekend. She tied a career-high 27 kills hitting .407 to go with 14 digs and two blocks in a 3-1 win over the Norse. She also registered 18 kills, 16 digs and two blocks in a sweep over Wright State on Sept. 29. She also averaged 4.29 digs per set. Bandel leads the league in kills per set and currently ranks 22nd inside the NCAA's top-50 in the same category.

Jessica Helms led the Jags in digs in both games with 19 digs against Cleveland State and 20 digs against Youngstown State in a three-set win over the Penguins. This marks the fifth time Helms recorded 20+ digs in a match this season. The libero finished the weekend with 5.57 digs per set and is currently fourth in conference play with 4.56 digs/set...Helms recorded 26 service receptions with no errors.
