INDIANAPOLIS- IUPUI senior Kori Waelbroeck helped the Jags win their first two Horizon League battles, leading the league with 40 total kills. Waelbroeck is the Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Oakland middle blocker Krysteena Davis put up an incredible 2.38 blocks per set in league action this week, earning her the title of Horizon League Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Kori Waelbroeck helped IUPUI to a 2-0 start in Horizon League play with wins over Wright State and Northern Kentucky. The senior had a career-high 28 kills and hit .448 (28-2-58) in the 3-2 win over Wright State. Her 28 kills were one shy of tying the school record for most in a five-set match. The right side hitter also added 13 digs, four blocks and an ace in that match. The Evansville native had 12 kills (12-6-44) and 14 digs in Sunday’s win over NKU, totaling 4.44 kills/set and 3.00 digs/set for the week. This season, she leads the Horizon League in total kills (236) and kills in league play (40).

Krysteena Davis averaged 2.38 blocks per set this week, best in the Horizon League. The middle blocker recorded 11 blocks on Sept. 23 vs Milwaukee. Davis is the league leader in total blocks, and also ranks seventh nationally in total blocks with 83.
