INDIANAPOLIS --- The Horizon League and WebStream Productions announced Tuesday (March 31) that they have expanded their partnership, with WebStream assuming day-to-day operations of the Horizon League Network (www.horizonleaguenetwork.tv) effective April 1.



WebStream Productions will bring an increased level of experience in sports video production, live streaming and new media to improve the Horizon League Network (HLN) experience. Since its debut in 2005, HLN has streamed more than 1,200 live events, including more than 800 men's and women's basketball games, and hundreds of on-demand features.



"We are excited to expand our relationship with WebStream Productions," said Horizon League Commissioner Jonathan B. LeCrone. "They bring a wealth of expertise in sports video production and new media, which will enhance the HLN viewing experience and help make the Horizon League Network the premier destination for League content."



As part of the partnership, Nate Flannery, currently the Horizon League's Director of New Media and Technology, will move from the League office to WebStream Productions, where he will continue to manage HLN on a daily basis. Josh Rattray, the League's Assistant Director of Communications, will move into a liaison role among the League office, WebStream Productions and member schools' production partners.

In addition to its many live events, the Horizon League Network regularly features the weekly "HLN Update," men's and women's basketball plays-of-the-week highlight features, League championship vignettes and other on-demand programming.



Comprised of 10 public and private institutions of higher learning, the Horizon League is an NCAA Division I athletics conference that sponsors 19 intercollegiate championships and is headquartered in Indianapolis. The League and its member institutions aspire to teach young people, through athletic competition, the value of learning, service to others and personal responsibility.



Member institutions of the Horizon League are Butler University (Indianapolis), Cleveland State University, the University of Detroit Mercy, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Loyola University Chicago, Valparaiso (Ind.) University, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio) and Youngstown (Ohio) State University.
