Horizon League women’s basketball is in full swing this weekend, with all ten teams in action. Fans can catch two weekend contests live on HorizonLeague.com.
No. 23/17 Green Bay (8-0) is in the only Horizon League team in action on Friday as it hosts Southeast Missouri at 7pm ET. The Phoenix look to extend a 16-game regular-season winning streak against the Redhawks.
Detroit (4-4) gets the action started on Saturday as it travels to IPFW for an 11:00am ET tip. The Titans have defeated the Mastadons in all five meetings, three of which were in Fort Wayne.
Loyola, which also sits at 4-4, will host Chicago State on Saturday at 1:30pm ET, in a game to be streamed live on the Horizon League Network.
Cleveland State (6-1) begins a three-game road swing beginning with Saturday’s trip to Akron, marking the 40th reunion of the two schools. The Vikings lead the series, 24-15, and have won two straight and three of the last four against the Zips.
Wright State (4-3) continues its five-game road series on Saturday with a 2pm visit at Longwood. All four Raider wins have come on the road this season and it is the first time that WSU has won four nonleague road games in a season since the program won five in its first season in Division I when it was an Independent (1987-88 campaign).
Valparaiso (2-6) returns home on Saturday to begin a three-game homestand starting with Pittsburgh at 2:35pm ET, its third Big East opponent of the season. The contest can be seen live on the Horizon League Network.
UIC (4-3) wraps up Saturday with a trip to Eastern Illinois. The 5pm ET match-up is the Flames third of five striaght against in-state opponents.
On Sunday, Butler (4-4) will head to Ball State for a 1pm ET contest. The Bulldogs are 2-2 against Indiana schools this season, and the match-up against the Cardinals will be BU’s final non-conference game against an in-state rival.
Youngstown State (2-5) will begin a four-game stretch to wrap up its non-conference schedule on Sunday at Western Michigan, while Milwaukee (3-5), looking to snap a three-game losing streak, will travel to Madison to face Wisconsin. Both contests will start at 2pm ET.
The Phoenix will finish off the weekend slate with a trip to Big East foe and in-state rival Marquette. Tipoff is set for 3pm ET.
