INDIANAPOLIS -- The Horizon League conference season tips-off on Friday beginning with three contests at 2pm.  Valparaiso travels to Eastern Illinois on Thursday to finish up its non-conference schedule.

Valparaiso (2-9) finishes out the non-conference portion of its season on Thursday in an 8pm ET contest at Eastern Illinois in the Horizon League’s only women’s basketball game.  The match-up against the Panthers begins a season-long four-game road trip for the Crusaders as they head into conference play on Sunday.

Friday marks the tip off of the Horizon League women’s basketball conference season starting with four contests on New Year’s Eve.  All conference games on Friday and Sunday can be seen live and for free on the Horizon League Network.

Three contests are set to begin at 2pm ET on Friday starting with Cleveland State at UIC.  The Vikings, which finished up their non-league schedule at 7-4, snapped a three-game losing streak on Tuesday defeating Lake Erie 81-62.  The Flames enter the contest at 5-6, losing four of their last 5 games.  Cleveland State has defeated UIC in the last six meetings between the two teams.

Wright State will travel to Milwaukee to kick off conference play.  The Panthers have lost their last six games and enters league play with a 3-7 record after a 76-69 loss at Illinois State Tuesday.  The Raiders have won three-straight games and five of their last six to start league play with a 7-4 mark.  WSU has won four of the last five contests against Milwaukee.

Youngstown State opens the Horizon League season at Loyola after finishing its non-conference schedule at 2-9, and losing twice at the Stetson Hatter Holiday Classic on Dec. 20 and 21.  The Ramblers finished their non-conference season on Tuesday with a 70-59 loss at Northern Illinois, coming in at 6-5.

Detroit and Green Bay will finish up the New Year as the Phoenix host the Titans at 8pm ET.  Green Bay finished its non-conference season at 11-1, with a 70-53 victory over South Dakota on Tuesday, while Detroit enters the contest at 6-5, with a 68-27 victory over Marygrove on Monday.  The last time these two teams met (Feb. 4, 2010) Detroit beat Green Bay, 71-55, but it has been 13 years since the Titans defeated the Phoenix twice in a row.

Butler will host Valparaiso, while Cleveland State will travel to Loyola on Sunday in 2pm ET contests.  The Bulldogs wrapped up their non-league schedule at 6-6, after falling to Bowling Green, 73-64, on Wednesday.

Also on Sunday, Youngstown State will head to UIC for a 4pm ET tipoff, Detroit will travel to Milwaukee at 7pm and Green Bay will host Wright State in an 8pm ET start.
