INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee and IUPUI earn this week’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively for the second week in a row. The Milwaukee Panthers’ senior Anna Smalley is awarded Offensive Player of the Week after scoring both goals in Milwaukee’s 2-0 win over Northern Illinois this week. Sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Lipka earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week by posting two consecutive shutouts again this week.

Smalley picked up right where she left off last week, netting both goals in Milwaukee's 2-0 win at Northern Illinois to give her game-winning goals in back-to-back contests. She followed that up with a goal in UWM's 6-0 win over Southern Utah Sunday.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK | SOPHIA LIPKA | IUPUI | SOPHOMORE | GOALKEEPER | INDIANAPOLIS, IND.

Registered back-to-back shutouts against preseason MAC West favorite Ball State and reigning MVC champion Illinois State. Lipka ran her shutout streak to four straight. Her 360 straight minutes without yielding a goal is the fourth-longest stretch in program history. Lipka recorded a career-high 12 saves in the 1-0 win over Ball State and  followed up with three saves in the victory over Illinois State. In addition, Lipka lowered her GAA to 0.85 for the season while upping her save percentage to .863.
