Horizon League Women's Tennis Players of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Youngstown State's Sofia Macias has been selected as the Horizon League Women's Player of the Week while Youngstown State duo Noelly Nsimba and Cassandra Moraleja has been awarded Doubles Team of the Week.

SINGLES:

Sofia Macias / Junior / Youngstown State / Guadaljara, Mexico

Playing the No. 3, Macias won the deciding match as Youngstown State defeated Eastern Michigan 4-3 for the first time in program history. After dropping the first set 4-6, the junior rallied to take the final two sets 6-3, 6-4.

DOUBLES:

Noelly Nsimba / Junior / Youngstown State / Montreal, Quebec
Cassandra Moraleja / Freshman / Youngstown State / Sydney, Austrailia

Playing doubles for the first time together, Nsimba and Moraleja won the decisive doubles match 7-6 (2). The point the Penguin combo earned proved to be the difference as the team won their first season-opening dual since 2011.
