Happy snowy Monday everyone. Well, at least it's snowy here!! I'll give you a few quick updates to tide you over, and I'll have a full report from the weekend on Horizon Headlines Tuesday at 3pm Eastern time.

Saturday saw big games everywhere, and teams around the league responded with some big play.

Let's start with a couple big men's games. The Butler Bulldogs found their 15th straight victory when they beat Cleveland State on Saturday. The Bulldogs led by two at break, and started off the second half with an 8-2 run to give themselves an early edge. Butler's Matt Howard had 21 points, 13 rebounds, while teammate Gordon Hayward added 19 points, 11 rebounds. The final score was Butler 70, Cleveland State 59.

With CSU's loss, Wright State took the opportunity to take over second place in the league by defeating Green Bay. This one was close at the half as well, with the Raiders leading by just one at the break. A 7-0 run by the Raiders early in the second gave them a lead they wouldn't lose, and they beat the Phoenix 67 to 54.

In some women's action, Detroit won their sixth consecutive game on Saturday at the UIC Pavilion. The Titans and the Flames fought neck and neck through the final minute. Detroit took a three point lead with 56 seconds remaining and kept UIC from knotting it for the remainder of the game. The final score was Detroit 64, UIC 61. The Titans remain in first place with 11 league wins.

Green Bay's women won their 34th consecutive league home game on Saturday when they hosted the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Phoenix led by 17 at the half, but UWM fought back in the beginning of the second cutting the lead to as little as 3. Green Bay kept up their defense, forcing 17 total turnovers in the match up. And they took the win, 74 to 63. The Phoenix were led by Celeste Hoewisch with a career high 23.

Tune in tonight at 8 o'clock Eastern time to see the men on Milwaukee play host to Youngstown State.

And I'll see you tomorrow with a full update from the weekend! Until then, stay warm wherever you are.
