UIC 79, Wright State 75
The UIC men’s basketball team (7-19, 3-8 HL) earned its second straight road victory on Thursday night at Wright State (11-14, 3-8 HL) by a final score of 79-75. The Flames faced a two-point deficit with under five minutes to play, but key defensive stops and made fouls shots down the stretch gave UIC its third league win of the season. Senior Jay Harris scored a game-high 25 points, while junior Paris Burns and senior Ahman Fells added 21 and 17, respectively

UIC shot 8-of-11 (72.7%) from three-point range in the first half and ended the night 11-of-17 (64.7%) from behind the arc.
The Flames shot 17-of-24 (70.8%) in the opening 20 minutes to take a 45-30 lead into the break. UIC hit 8-of-11 three-pointers in the first half including its first four attempts as the Flames jumped out to a 14-4 lead.
Wright State opened the second half by outscoring UIC 21-7 to get within 52-51 at the 11:40 mark. UIC would score the next five points to stretch the lead back to six, but a quick 8-0 spurt by the Raiders gave WSU its first lead of the game, 59-57, with 6:05 remaining.
Wright State led 63-61 on a Michael Karena jumper with 4:53 left, but the Raiders would not connect on another field goal until 24 seconds remained in the game as UIC went on a 13-4 run between Wright State field goals to clinch the game.
Grant Benzinger led Wright State with a career-high 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting, while Karena also register a career-high, scoring 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting.
