Indianapolis to Host 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Regional

Official Indianapolis 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Regional Site

The city of Indianapolis, Butler University and the Horizon League will host the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball - Midwest Regional in Lucas Oil Stadium on March 27 and 29. The Regional will mark the first NCAA Basketball Tournament games in the new, state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Stadium.


The 2009 Regional will be the first Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games in Indianapolis since 1979. Since 1979, Indianapolis has played host to rounds of the men's tournament on 16 occasions. In 2010, the city will host its sixth Men's Final Four. In 2011, the Women's Final Four will be in Indianapolis for the second time.
