Horizon League Indoor Track Athletes of the Week

Scott Overall

Butler, Sr., Twickenham, U.K.

Overall placed third in the men's 3,000 meter run at the Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.  Competing in what was regarded as the most powerful field in the indoor season to this point, Overall ran the fifth-fastest 3,000 meter time in the nation this season with a school-record 7:56.58 finish.  He finished behind Mike Woods of Michigan (7:52.27) and Notre Dame All-American Kurt Benninger (7:52.28), while finishing ahead of NCAA indoor 5,000 meter champ Chris Solinsky of Wisconsin to provisionally qualify for the 2006 NCAA Indoor Championship.

Jessica Fouche

UIC, Senior, Chicago, Ill.

Fouche highlighted the Flames' day at the Carthage/Tadd Metzger Invite on Saturday, shattering the indoor school record in the 200-meter dash while also winning the 400-meter race. Fouche's time of 25.22 in the 200-meter broke her own school record of 25.48, which she set back on Feb. 21, 2004 at the UW-Milwaukee Quadrangular. Her time was also a new meet record and the second-fastest time in the League this season.  Her time of 58.87 in the 400m is good for third in the Horizon League.
