INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 2008 Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships return to the Kent State University Field House in Kent, Ohio on Saturday for the second time in three years.

The Milwaukee men's and women's track and field teams enter the event in the hopes of capturing its fifth and third straight indoor titles, respectively.

On the flip side of things, the Youngstown State men's and women's track squads will look to avenge runner-up finishes in 2006 and 2007.

On the men's side, Milwaukee has the League's top individual performances in seven events. Panther sophomore Tyler Bucholz holds the circuit's top mark in the 200 (21.65) and 400 (48.29) meter dash events. Fellow sophomore and 2007 Field Newcomer of the Year, Quinn Mongoven leads the loop with a mark of 6 feet, 10.25 inches in the high jump.

Butler junior distance runner Andy Baker enters the indoor championship with the top time in the mile (4:10.78) and 3,000 (8:14.83) meter events.

In the throwing events, Valparaiso senior Steve Bartholomew highlights the field by holding the circuit's top performance in the weight throw with a toss of 63 feet, 4 inches. Bartholomew's League-best mark was just eight inches shy of an NCAA provisional standard.

On the women's side, UWM owns eight of the League's top individual marks this season. Panther sophomore Kelsey Conrad took over the loop standard in the 60 (7.73) and 200 (24.99) meter dash events this past weekend at the UWM Panther Tune Up in Milwaukee, Wis.

In the distance events, Butler's Genni Gardner returns after she claimed the 2007 Outstanding Runner Award. Gardner enters the championship poised to defend her League title in the mile run from a year ago. In 2008, the BU senior holds the League's top mark in the mile (5:00.71) and 3,000 (9:36.23) meter run events.

Youngstown State senior Bethany Anderson, who took home the 2007 Outstanding Field Performer Award, headlines the women's throwing contingent as she will look to repeat as League champion in both the shot put and weight throw events. This season, Anderson holds the top performance in the weight throw with a mark of 58 feet, 11.50 inches.

In the jump events, reining Horizon League Female Athlete of the Week Beth Zimmerman holds the League's top standard in the long (19 feet, 5.25 inches) and triple jump (39 feet, 7.75 inches) events.
