Horizon League Male Athlete of the Week
Marcus Lesley, UIC, Junior, Markham, Ill.
Junior transfer Marcus Lesley made an immediate impact in his first meet with the Flames, as the Markham, Ill., native cruised to a victory in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.5 at the University of Chicago Open. Lesley also added a third-place mark in the 55-meter hurdles (7.7).

Horizon League Female Athlete of the Week
Andrea Karpala, Detroit, Senior, Tecumseh, Ontario
Karpala won her first weight throw title of the season with her toss of 17.38 meters/ 57'0.25" at the Jack Harvey Invite.

Other Top Male Performers
Khris Davidson, Detroit, Sophomore, Oak Park, Mich.
Davidson finished in ninth place in the long jump at the Jack Harvey Invite by setting a personal record of 5.97 meters/19'7".

Other Top Female Performers
Rowsha LaBranche, UIC, Sophomore, Bolingbrook, Ill.
Sophomore sprinter Rowsha LaBranche dominated in her first meet of the season, claiming one first-place finish and two runner-up marks. LaBranche captured the 200-meter dash title with a time of 26.5, including a second-place mark in the 400-meter dash (1:02.27) and as a member of the 4x400 relay (4:16.62).
