Track and Field Men's Athlete of the Week
Andrew Sherman, Butler, Senior, Wiltshire, U.K.
Sherman tied Butler's indoor record in the mile run while placing runner-up at the Iowa State Classic. He finished the race in 4:04.20, just 0.06 behind individual champ Ryan Hampton of Missouri, and tied the previous Butler mark, set by All-American Julius Mwangi in 1998. Sherman earned NCAA provisional qualification with his effort.
Track and Field Women's Athlete of the Week
Jeanna Cunningham, Youngstown State, Senior, Warren, Ohio
Cunningham broke two school records as part of an outstanding day on Saturday at the All-Ohio Championship. The senior placed second in the 400-meters in a school-record time of 55.82 seconds and anchored the 4x400-meter relay that set the school record with a time of 3:49.66. She added an eighth-place finish with a season-best time of 25.10 in the 200.

Ramy Sulaiman, Detroit, Sophomore, Farmington Hills, Mich.
Sulaiman broke his own pole vault record Saturday at the Windsor Team Challenge. The Titans were fourth overall at the event. Sulaiman set the new record with a leap of 4.00-meters, breaking his old mark set last month coming in fourth overall.
Trent Thompson, UIC, Sophomore, Naperville, Ill.
Thompson took home a pair of top-three finishes, including a first-place mark in the 400-meter dash, to pace the men's track and field squad at the Lewis Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Thompson crossed the finish line of the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.73, while adding a third-place time of 22.9.
Edmund Blankson, Loyola, Freshman, Glen Carbon, Ill.
Blankson broke the school record in the 200-meter dash at the Iowa State Classic with a mark of 22.10, replacing the old record of 22.16 that Torey Botti set in 1993.
Dan Schultz, UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Grafton, Wis.
At the Iowa State Cyclone Classic, Schultz cleared a school-record tying height of 15-9 to tie for ninth in the event. It was just his second meet this season, while he had been one of two Panthers with a League best height of 15-7 after his first competition.
R.D. Goodright, Youngstown State, Freshman, Wooster, Ohio
Goodright ran a personal-best time of :55.73 in the 800 to place second at the All-Ohio Championship on Saturday.

Andrea Karpala, Detroit, Senior, Tecumseh, Ont.
Karpala won the weight throw for the third year-in-a-row in front of her hometown crowd, this time breaking her own event, facility and school record with a toss of 17.95-meters. She currently leads the League in this event and is also the defending champion.
Rowsha LaBranche, UIC, Sophomore, Bolingbrook, Ill.
LaBranche captured a trio of top-two finishes to lead the women's track and field squad at the Lewis Invitational on Saturday afternoon. LaBranche took home the 400-meter title, crossing the finish line with a season-best time of 59.83, while picking up a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 26.42. She also ran a leg of the Flames' first-place 4x400 relay team with a time of 4:17.90.
Maureeca Lambert, Loyola, Sophomore, Bloomington, Ill.
Lambert had a tenth place finish (out of 65 competitors) with a mark of 4:58.02 in the one mile run, which places her fifth on Loyola's all-time list. Lambert was also the anchor for the distance medley team that recorded a time of 11:52.58 to place the team third all-time for the Ramblers.
Tenia Fisher, UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Milwaukee, Wis.
For the second weekend in a row, Fisher broke a school record, this time it was eclipsing her own 800-meter mark by almost two seconds at the Iowa State Cyclone Classic. She completed the event in 2:10.05 in placing ninth, while also running in the 200 for the first time this season and posting the sixth-fastest time in school history (25.75).
Marie McVetta, Wright State, Sophomore, Grafton, Ohio
McVetta tooke fifth place in the one-mile run at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by the University of Akron in a time of 5:05.84.
