Ishimaru, Wolf, Ciesielski and Johnson Collect Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors

INDIANAPOLIS—UIC’s Kei Ishimaru (Sycamore, Ill.) and Green Bay’s Parker Wolf (Kohler, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while UIC’s Mark Ciesielski (Wheaton, Ill.) and Whitney Johnson (Roscoe, Ill.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.

Ishimaru led UIC in a dual meet against Green Bay with three individual first-place finishes. He won the 100-butterfly in a time of 50.87 and the 200-butterfly with a time of 1:53.84. Ishimaru also led all swimmers in the 200-individual medley finishing with a time of 1:54.22. This marks the second time Ishimaru has received swimmer of the week accolades this season.

Wolf finished first in all four of her events in the dual meet against UIC, leading the Phoenix in the conference matchup. She won two individual races, winning the 50-freestyle in a time of 24.23 and the 100-freestyle with a time of 52.69. In addition, Wolf anchored the winning 200-medley relay and 200-freestyle relay teams. This marks the second time she has collected the League honor this season.

Ciesielski led UIC on the diving boards, winning the 3-meter and placing third on the 1-meter board. He collected first-place on the 3-meter board with a score of 281.32 and posted a score of 253.65 in the 1-meter.

Johnson earns her second diver of the week honor this season with first and second-place finishes in her diving events. She won on the 3-meter board with a score of 264.97 and posted a score of 244.20 in the 1-meter to take second-place.

Green Bay is back in the water this weekend when the team takes on Valparaiso Friday at 6 p.m. EST and IUPUI Saturday at 1 p.m. EST at Dorschel Natatorium. UIC is home at Flames Natatorium Saturday hosting Valparaiso for a 2 p.m. EST dual meet.
