NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Former Cleveland State golf standout Jake Scott claimed his first career professional victory with a final round 69 last Wednesday at the Carolina Winter Series Event at Tidewater Golf Club.

Scott's final-round 69 allowed him to overcome a four-stroke deficit and secure his first professional victory on the NGA/Hooters Tour Pro Series.

Scott, the 2009 Horizon League Player of the Year and two-time medalist at the Horizon League Championship, posted rounds of 73-73-69 to finish at one under par 215, two strokes in front of Adam McKenney and George Carroll, who each finishing at one over par 217 and will share 2nd place.

Scott was part of three Horizon League Championship teams (2006, 2008, 2009) at CSU, claiming medalist honors as a junior and senior.

He averaged a school-record low of 73.2 as a senior, allowing him to record the lowest career scoring average in program history.
