INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee freshman goalkeeper Jamie Forbes has been named Horizon League Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Aug. 24-30.

Forbes, a native of St. Charles, Ill., posted three straight shutouts, seven saves and 290 scoreless minutes for the Panthers last week.

Forbes helped Milwaukee to a scoreless tie at the University of Wisconsin on Monday, 6-0 victory over the University of Michigan on Friday and 1-0 win over Rice University on Sunday.

The second and third victories helped UWM capture the Milwaukee Cup tournament championship for a third consecutive year.

Milwaukee (2-0-2) returns to action on Thursday when it hosts cross-town rival Marquette University at 8 p.m. ET.
