INDIANAPOLIS –Jasher Cox, Director of Communications at the Southwestern Athletic Conference, will join the Horizon League staff as Assistant Commissioner of Communications and Broadcasting while Jeremiah Ingram, Director of Administration at Play Ball Indiana, has been named the Senior Director of Communications, Broadcasting and Competition. Cox and Ingram bring over 14 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics to the Horizon League.

“It’s a privilege to welcome Jasher Cox and Jeremiah Ingram to our staff,” said Horizon League Commissioner Jonathan LeCrone. “Jasher and Jeremiah bring a variety of experience and great energy to the Horizon League. We are excited for them to join the team as we emphasize our digital platform and innovative communication strategies.”

Cox will oversee the communications staff as well as the creation and deployment of all Horizon League content. He will serve as the primary liaison to all broadcasting partners ensuring contract fulfillment and will provide broadcast oversight and quality control management.

During his time at the SWAC, Cox managed all aspects of the SWAC Digital Network in addition to being the main communications contact for men’s basketball, football and golf. He managed the entire media relations department, volunteers while also maintaining the official SWAC website and sponsorship packages.

Prior to his role at the SWAC, Cox was the Athletics Communications Assistant at Alabama State University where he served in three different roles. Cox was the primary communications contact for men’s basketball, soccer and softball. While at ASU he launched all of the University’s athletic social media platforms and initiated effective social media tactics for coaches and student-athletes within the programs.

Early in his career, Cox was a photojournalist and sports producer for CBS 8 WAKA  as well as a Media Relations Associate for the Montgomery Biscuits. At CBS 8 WAKA, Cox covered local sports along with the SEC news and was the producer of the evening newscast. He covered annual SEC Football Media Days as well as the 2005 Sugar Bowl and 2008 FBS National Championship.

His first career opportunity came as a play-by-play announcer for his alma mater Auburn University where he was the voice for the Tigers’ softball and volleyball teams.

Ingram, in collaboration with Cox, will be responsible for the daily coordination of all League communications and broadcast/digital production elements. In addition, Ingram will serve as the staff liaison for assigned Horizon League sports and championship operations.

In Ingram’s position at Play Ball Indiana, he oversaw the administration operations for the Indianapolis affiliate Major League Baseball’s RBI program. His duties also included providing leadership to strategic initiatives and planning to the organization as well as outlining and executing strategic communication and marketing plans.

Prior to Ingram’s time in Indianapolis, he served as the Assistant Director of Media Relations at Conference USA. As the Assistant Director, Ingram directed the external public relations and new media efforts while executing the strategic promotion of the organization, its membership and brand management. He served as the social media contact for the conference and managed event operations for championship competition.

Before Conference-USA, Ingram was the Marketing and Communications Internal Editor for Saint Louis University just after spending four years at the Missouri Valley Conference as the Assistant Commissioner for New Media/Communications. As the Assistant Commissioner, Ingram directed the external public relations and new media efforts for various sports and created MVC Live, the League’s online streaming vehicle.

Ingram is a graduate of Bradley University where he started his career as a Charley Steiner Intern/Sports Information Assistant.

Cox and Ingram will both start in the Horizon League office on Nov. 21.
