MADISON, Wis. -- Along with four other head coaches from the state of Wisconsin, Milwaukee men’s basketball coach Rob Jeter hosted the 8th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., on May 2. Jeter, along with fellow head coaches Bo Ryan (Wisconsin), Luke Reigel (UW-Parkside), Jeff Gard (UW-Platteville) and Justin Meyer (Edgewood) welcomed a sold-out crowd that included over 725 guests for an evening of celebration, remembrance and fighting back.

The event featured a silent auction followed by dinner and a program included special guest Andy Katz of ESPN. A live auction closed out the festivities for the evening. This year’s Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala raised over $1.2 million.

“I am happy to take the role of co-hosting an event to raise awareness for such an important cause,” Jeter said. “The Coaches vs. Cancer concept has provided great awareness about the fight against cancer and I am happy to team up with some of my fellow coaches in the state to raise that awareness even further.”

The American Cancer Society saves lives faster by helping people stay well, helping them get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against cancer. Last year’s Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala raised over $1 million, maintaining its status as the No. 1 Coaches vs. Cancer event in the country.
