Jeter Inducted Into UW-Platteville Hall of Fame

MILWAUKEE - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter has once again been honored by his alma mater.

Jeter, along with the rest of the 1990-91 University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team, was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame Sunday.

Jeter was captain of the UW-Platteville team that won the first of four NCAA Division III national championships for the school. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame as an individual in 2006.

The Pioneers were 28-3 during the 1990-91 season and averaged a school-record 97.4 points per game. In the national tournament, coach Bo Ryan's team rolled past Ripon, 96-77, Christopher Newport, 110-50, and Illinois Benedictine, 101-65, to reach the Final Four. After beating Otterbein, 96-94, in the semifinals, the Pioneers topped Franklin & Marshall, 81-74, to claim the national championship.

Jeter earned spots on the All-WSUC, All-Midwest Region and All-Final Four teams that season. He later became an assistant coach at the school and won two more national titles.

Each member was presented a medallion to recognize their accomplishment that was made and produced on the UW-Platteville campus.

Along with the honors Jeter has received from UW-Platteville, he was also recently named to the inaugural class of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. The first class is being announced to coincide with the conference's celebration of its 100th anniversary, which will take place during the 2012-13 academic year. The 30-member class will be inducted as part of the WIAC Centennial Celebration Banquet to be held on Aug. 4 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
